New Delhi: Pakistans T20I captain Salman Agha may face trouble over a controversial remark he made during the post-match press conference after the Asia Cup 2025 final. India skipper Suryakumar Yadav had pledged his entire match fee from the tournament to the Indian Army and to the families of victims of the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives. In response Agha said that the Pakistan team would also donate their match fees to civilians who were impacted by Indias Operation Sindoor a series of precision strikes carried out by the Indian Armed Forces on terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir launched in retaliation to the Pahalgam attack. We are all donating this to them Agha announced at the end of his press conference after Pakistans defeat to India in the final. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is allegedly preparing to lodge an official complaint against the Pakistans captain which could put him in trouble. According to a board source quoted in the report Aghas comment was both political and controversial. It involves a sensitive topic and since it violates the Code of Conduct while mentioning India the matter could attract international attention the report added. Salman Agha defended the action of Mohsin Maqvi During the press conference Pakistan captain Salman Agha also defended the actions of Mohsin Naqvi the chairman of Asian Cricket Council and Pakistan Cricket Board who had taken the trophy after India refused to accept it from him. Agha said in the conference If you dont accept the trophy from the ACC president how will you get it? Earlier India captain Suryakumar pledged to donate his tournaments match fee as he said I have decided to donate my match fees from this tournament to support our Armed Forces and the families of the victims who suffered from the Pahalgam terror attack.
