
As Delhi gears up for the grand celebrations of Ramleela and Dussehra, the Delhi Traffic Police have issued detailed advisories on their on X, for commuters on October 2, 2025. The festivities, which attract thousands of visitors across multiple venues, are expected to cause significant traffic disruptions in key parts of the city. Drivers and commuters have been urged to plan their journeys in advance, use alternate routes, and avoid certain stretches during peak event hours.
Kamla Nehru Park, Sadar BazarThe first major event is scheduled at Kamla Nehru Park, Sadar Bazar, beginning at 6:00 PM. Authorities have announced temporary traffic diversions around the park to ensure smooth management of both pedestrian and vehicular movement. Key diversion points include Barafkhana, Clock Tower, and Malka Ganj, where vehicles may be redirected to alternate routes.

The roads directly affected by the celebrations include Lala Jagannath Marg and Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Marg, which are expected to experience heavy congestion from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Parking on Lala Jagannath Marg will not be permitted during this period. Commuters are advised to use Dr. Karnwal Marg and Roshnara Road as alternate routes to bypass the congested stretches. Traffic police personnel will be stationed along affected routes to manage the flow of vehicles and ensure public safety.
DDA Utsav Ground, IP ExtensionSimultaneously, the DDA Utsav Ground at IP Extension will host Ramleela performances from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM, drawing large crowds from neighbouring areas. The roads expected to face heavy traffic include Karkari Road (up to Telco T-point), Road No. 57A (Hasanpur Depot Red Light–NH-24), Vikas Marg, CCS Marg, and NH-24.

Motorists are advised to avoid these stretches between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM. In addition, parking is strictly prohibited on Road No. 57A and adjoining streets, with authorities urging visitors to use designated parking areas only. Alternate routes such as Master Plan Road and CCS Road are recommended for bypassing congested sections.
Traffic police have also recommended that commuters rely on public transport options, including Metro services, to reach the venue. This is expected to reduce congestion and ensure smoother movement in the surrounding areas. Roadside parking and encroachments can cause major delays, and officials have urged strict compliance with traffic rules during the event.
The Delhi Traffic Police will deploy personnel at strategic points, including intersections and major junctions, to manage both vehicular and pedestrian movement. Barricades and signage will guide drivers toward alternate routes, while emergency services will be on standby in case of any incidents.
