Kola Superdeep Borehole: Have you ever thought that a tunnel can be built from one end of the earth to the other. It seems impossible to think. But there is a place in Russia where there has been an attempt to dig the world's longest pit. However, this attempt to build a hole from this side of the earth to the other side could not be completed. Despite this, it is called the longest borhole in the world. Know about this deepest borewell in the world.
The world's deepest pit is located in the Pchengeski district of Marmansk Oblast Province in Russia. Its excavation began on 24 May 1970. For this, a giant drilling machine named Uralmash-4E (Uralmash-4E) was used. It is a multilayer drilling machine used for excavation of oil wells.
Scientists in Russia vowed more and more deep digging to break the US record. After digging for 9 consecutive years, scientists broke the world record made by Birth Rogers Hole at Washita County, Oklahoma, USA, as soon as they reached a depth of 9583 meters (31,440 ft) on 6 June 1979.
However, even after this, scientists in Russia did not stop digging the pit. As of October 1982, the Cola SG-3 dug a deep pit 11,662 meters (38,261 ft) from the ground surface. By 1983, the drill machine reached 12,000 meters (39,000 ft), while many scientists on the site stopped the drilling for a year. After this, after digging up to 12,066 meters (39,587 ft) on 27 September 1984, on 27 September 1984, 5 km of the drill string turned and remained in the hole.
Despite many efforts, the scientists of Russia could reach a depth of only 12,262 meters (40,230 ft) by 1989. Scientists hoped that they would be successful in digging a 15,000 meter (49,000 ft) pit by 1993, but the machines had stopped working completely by now. In such a depth, the temperature of the earth had reached more than 180 degrees Celsius. The temperature in the depth was rising very fast, due to which the work had to be stopped.
After hard work, scientists and machines had stopped working after going to a depth of 12 kilometers from the ground surface. Later this pit was named Door to Hell i.e. the door of hell. The Soviet Union broke in 1991 and was never tried to dig this borhole again.
Let us know that the depth of Kola Superdeep Borhole is 12.26 km. In this, 15 bastions can be comfortable with great comfortable. The height of the Burj Khalifa is 828 meters. You can guess the depth of this bore hole from the fact that it will contain 170 Qutub Minar and 41 Eiffel Tower.
