Arsenal have the chance to go top of the Premier League table before Liverpool even kick a ball at Chelsea this weekend. The Reds travel to Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening while Mikel Arteta's Gunners play host to Nuno Espirito Santo's West Ham.
The Hammers are undoubtedly rejuvenated following the arrival of the ex-Nottingham Forest, Spurs and Wolves boss after earning a credible point at Everton on Monday evening. Furthermore, West Ham also ran out 1-0 winners at Arsenal in this same fixture last season so Arteta will know better than anyone that the Irons are not to be underestimated.
football.london expects Arsenal to make several changes to their starting XI following the 2-0 Champions League triumph over Olympiacos. In defence, Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori are likely to return in place of Ben White and Myles Lewis-Skelly, respectively. Timber and Calafiori have not put a foot wrong all season, so much so, minutes have been hard to come by for both White and Lewis-Skelly.
Their opportunities will come but given they both started in midweek, Arteta seems likely to return to his first-choice full-back duo. In midfield, it would be a major surprise if Declan Rice did not start the clash after he was rested against the Greek champions.

The England international could return in place of Mikel Merino to partner Martin Zubimendi and Martin Odegaard in midfield. Arsenal captain Odegaard was superb against Olympiacos and claimed the man of the match award.
Even though the Norwegian has not long returned from a shoulder issue, he has really stepped up his game in the past week after also catching the eye at Newcastle from the bench.
Then Arteta is facing a big dilemma in attack. Bukayo Saka - rested against Olympiacos before coming off the bench to score - will undoubtedly start and we can also expect Viktor Gyokeres to spearhead Arsenal's attack.
Gabriel Martinelli should have done enough to keep his spot in the side on the wing following his goal but Eberechi Eze is also pushing to feature from the get-go. football.london are tipping the Brazilian to keep his place as Martinelli looks to build some much-needed momentum heading into the international break.
He has already made it known that he will not settle for a place on the bench and given he was lively all evening against Olympiacos, it would feel slightly cruel to take him back out of the starting XI.
Possible Arsenal line-up: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Zubimendi, Rice, Odegaard; Saka, Gyokeres, Martinelli.
