Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were reportedly "very sad" by one thing yesterday as their mum Princess Kate stepped out on a solo royal engagement. Princess Kate was all smiles on Thursday as she visited RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire - her first visit to the RAF station since becoming Royal Honorary Air Commodore in August 2023.

During the visit, Kate, 43, seemed to be having a great time as she tried a flight simulator and performed a loop the loop. The Princess of Wales, who wore a grey trouser suit on the visit, also looked at a Typhoon and spoke to those living at the station.

It was during this chat in the station's communal space - called The Lounge - that Kate revealed why her three children would be upset on Thursday.

The princess was handed three toy Typhoons and key rings to give to George, 12, Charlotte, 10, and Louis, seven.

However, the future Queen revealed that her three children would be "upset" that she saw a Typhoon without them and spent time looking at military aircraft.

She could be heard saying: "They will be very upset that I've seen a Typhoon without them!"

Talking about how her children felt as Kate went on the visit without them, as they were all in school, the princess said: "My children were very sad. The boys particularly."

This is because it is believed the children have a keen interest in aviation, with Louis reportedly wanting to become a fighter pilot when he is older.

It is believed Kate spoke about this on her visit yesterday, with Louis having already made a similar comment about his dream in the past.

The princess was heard saying: "I'm going to tell them it takes eight years and a lot of hard work."

Prince William did not accompany his wife on the public engagement yesterday.
