Material for making potato cheela:
- Potatoes: 2-3 medium sized
- Semolina (rava): 2 tablespoons (it makes cheela crispy)
- Besan: 1 tbsp
- Onion: 1 small (finely chopped)
- Green Chilli: 1-2 (finely chopped, as per taste)
- Green Coriander: 2 teaspoons (finely chopped)
- Ginger-garlic paste: half teaspoon (optional)
- Salt: as per taste
- Red chili powder: half a teaspoon
- Turmeric Powder: A quarter teaspoon
- Oil: to bake cheela
Method of preparation:
- Prepare potatoes: First of all wash the potatoes thoroughly and peel. Now take water in a big vessel and grate the potatoes in it. They do not turn black by grating potatoes in water.
- Make a solution: Now remove the grated potatoes from the water and squeeze it well so that their extra water comes out. Pour these lacquer into a mixing bowl.
- Next, add semolina, gram flour, finely chopped onion, green chillies, coriander and ginger-garlic paste.
- Now add salt, red chili powder and turmeric powder to it and mix all the things well. Do not add water to it now, because it will make it like a solution with potato moisturization. If the solution looks too thick, just add one or two teaspoons of water.
- Bake cheela: Now heat a non-stick griddle on the gas. Apply a little oil on the pan and lubricate it.
- When the griddle is hot, spread potato solution with a spoon and spread it on the pan. Keep it neither too thick nor too thin.
- Now add oil around the cheela and slightly above and let it cook on low to medium flame.
- When the cheela becomes golden and crispy from one side, then turn it out comfortably and bake it from the other side too.
- When the cheela becomes golden and crisp on both sides, take it out in a plate.
