16 arts of moon

Sharad Purnima, also known as Kojagari Purnima, is believed to be closest to the earth on this day and is full of sixteen arts. The 16 arts of the Moon are like this- Amrit, Mand, flowers, confirmation, satisfaction, dhruti, eternal, Chandrika, Kanti, Jyotsna, Sri, Preeti, Angda, Purna, and Purnamrit. These arts reflect different stages and qualities of the moon. It is said that in the year, the moon is full of sixteen arts on this day.

Moon rays rain

It is believed that on the day of Sharad Purnima, there is a rain of nectar from the rays of the moon, which is considered very auspicious. Due to which Kheer is kept under the open sky on the night of Sharad Purnima, so that the moon’s nectar rays in kheer are mixed in kheer.

Halid festival of Maa Lakshmi
