The statement of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on the violence erupted after the ‘I Love Mohammed’ controversy in Bareilly has created a ruckus in political circles. CM Yogi’s ‘denting-painting’ statement has attacked the opposition. Samajwadi Party MP Iqra Hasan has openly challenged Yogi by making a spicy on this.
Iqra Hasan, MP from Kairana Lok Sabha seat, responded to CM Yogi. He said, “You are in such a constitutional position, where it is your duty to respect every religion, every caste, every language and every culture. But the kind of language the Chief Minister is using, will do ‘denting-painting’, will do it, he will do it… I challenge them- I will show them- show you!
Ikra clearly said that Yogi’s statements are not only objectionable, but also try to divide the society. He also questioned the attitude of the central government and said that the image of the government is different on international forums, but the reality is in front of everyone.
Iqra Hasan launched a scathing attack on the BJP government, saying, “When the central government goes abroad, like middle East or other countries, there is big claims there. But their reality in the state is in front of everyone. They are trying to spread discrimination in society. But the public will never forgive such politics.”
The SP MP also said that even though such politics will run to some extent in the state, it will not be tolerated at the level of the country. He again challenged Yogi, “Show what you are saying.”
Ikra Hasan’s statement has created a stir in the political corridors. It remains to be seen what will be the next step in this dispute and will CM Yogi answer this challenge.
