In this temple, Hindus and Muslims bow down together, its story is related to 700-year-old incident

The story of this temple is mysterious

Sonbhadra, the last district of Uttar Pradesh, is famous for its religious and cultural heritage. Jugail's Jirhi Mata Temple is situated on the border of this district, which is a wonderful confluence of faith of both Hindu and Muslim religions. Here people of both communities bow to the mother's court with equal reverence. This temple has been a symbol of communal harmony and unity for centuries.

Local people believe that the mother -in -law definitely fulfills the wishes made with true heart. This is the reason that devotees from far-flung areas, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar and many districts of UP reach for worship. The specialty of the temple is that more emotions are given importance from religion here and both Hindu-Muslim communities come to receive the blessings of the mother.

700 year old temple and mysterious story

According to historians, this temple is about 700 years old. It is believed that when this area was under the Kharwar dynasty, a procession passed through this area. During the yatra, some Barati river went to drink water, which the local people described the Sieri river. Hearing this name, two Muslim baraatis involved in the procession felt opposite their religion and they gave up their lives there.

Seeing this, Jirahi Devi involved in the procession became very sad and she also gave up her life. It is said that at that moment the entire procession turned into stone. With the passage of time, the temple of Jirahi Mata was established at this place, which is still considered a miraculous place for devotees.

Tradition continued for generations

The temple is still served by the priests of the Kharwar fraternity, who have been fulfilling the responsibility of worshiping here for generations. The temple is bordering Madhya Pradesh and thousands of devotees arrive here every year on Navratri, Chaitra Navratri and other festivals.

Emotion is above religion

Sonbhadra, also known as Gupta Kashi, still bow his head together in this temple. The Jirahi Mata temple is a living example of the fact that there is no limit to faith, and true reverence always connects hearts, does not break.
