Qantas is bringing back its popular direct connection between Delhi and Melbourne starting October 27, 2025. The Australian flag carrier confirmed that the service will run three times a week through to March 28, 2026, giving travellers more convenient options ahead of the busy holiday and cricket season.

Flight Schedule and Details

The airline will operate three flights per week between Delhi and Melbourne until March 28, 2026, using the Airbus A330-200. Each aircraft offers both Business and Economy seating, with a total capacity of over 1,300 seats weekly and more than 30,000 seats available across the peak travel season.

Here’s the tentative flight schedule:

RouteFlight No.DaysDep. TimeArr. Time
Delhi → MelbourneQF70Wed, Fri, Sun09:15 hrs05:00 hrs (+1 day)
Melbourne → DelhiQF69Tue, Thu, Sat21:00 hrs04:35 hrs (+1 day)

These direct flights cut travel time significantly compared to one-stop routes through Singapore or Sydney, making them especially appealing for travellers heading to Australia for events, tourism, or business.

Why This Matters

This route had been discontinued in June 2025, but strong demand from Indian travellers and upcoming cricket events in Australia prompted the airline to restart it. The timing is perfect for fans heading to Melbourne’s T20 series in late October, the Ashes, and the Big Bash League later in the year.

Qantas Expands Presence in India

To strengthen its footprint in the Indian market, Qantas has also opened new offices in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. This move aims to improve customer support and partnerships with travel agencies as the airline rebuilds its India–Australia network.

What This Means for Travellers

Flying direct between Delhi and Melbourne cuts hours of transit time compared to one-stop connections through Singapore or Dubai. It’s a win for business travellers, students, and holidaymakers looking for a smoother journey to Australia’s cultural capital.

In short: Qantas’ Delhi–Melbourne return is more than just another flight resumption, it’s a signal that travel between India and Australia is thriving again, with demand high on both sides.
