Bhubaneswar: In a gruesome incident, a young man was found murdered with his head crushed with a stone in Bhubaneswar on Monday.

As per preliminary information, the body was found near Chunukoli slum under the jurisdiction of Infocity police station in the city. The identity of the deceased was yet to be ascertained.

After receiving information about the incident, a team of police personnel visited the site and initiated an investigation. Authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the crime.

While efforts are underway to identify the body, the deceased was believed to have been associated the ongoing construction work in the area.

The identification process has been challenging as the face has been disfigured and head smashed with stone.

A forensic team also visited the site and initiated a detailed investigation. Police are also examining various possibilities behind the crime.

The incident comes at a time when several crimes have been reported in Bhubaneswar in recent weeks. In a separate case, an employee of AIIMS Bhubaneswar was shot dead on Monday. The case is being investigated by the Khandagiri police. These incidents together have raised concerns over the law and order situation in the city.
