Important decisions taken under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann

Chandigarh – The Punjab Cabinet led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has decided to increase crop loss compensation to farmers to Rs 20,000 per acre. This important decision was taken in the cabinet meeting held at the Chief Minister’s Office.

Chief Minister’s Office spokesperson said that with a view to provide appropriate relief to the affected people for the damage caused to crops and houses due to natural calamities, the Cabinet has approved the revised relief amount rates. This year there was a severe flood in the state, due to which it was decided to increase the relief amount. Under this scheme, compensation of Rs 10,000 per acre will be given for 26 to 75 percent crop loss and Rs 20,000 per acre for 76 to 100 percent loss. Additionally, a compensation of Rs 40,000 per house will be given for partially damaged houses, whereas earlier this amount was only Rs 6,500 per acre. SDRF by Government of India. There will be no increase in the amount to be given, hence the additional compensation amount will be borne by the state government from its treasury.

Amendment in Punjab Minor Mineral Rules

The Cabinet has approved amendments to the Punjab Minor Mineral Rules, 2013. This amendment has been made to streamline the operation of interstate checkposts, which will enable levy of duty on vehicles entering the state. This will help the department to meet the operating costs at interstate checkposts.

Amendment in the policy of determining the reserve price of plots

The Cabinet also approved amendment in the policy for fixing the reserve price of plots. As per the revised e-auction policy, the reserve price of the site will be determined on the basis of evaluation by three independent valuers. The reserve price once set for the auction will remain valid for one calendar year.


Policy of space allotment for cooperative committees

The Cabinet approved the policy of allotment of space to cooperative societies under the Group Housing Scheme-2025. This policy is designed to ensure affordable and planned housing in the urban areas of Punjab.

Policy for completion of mega housing projects

Cabinet approved the policy to complete mega housing projects. To provide relief to promoters, the project development period will be allowed to be extended till December 31, 2025.

Increase in honorarium of OSD (Litigation)

The Cabinet appointed OSDs working in various departments. (Litigation) approved to increase the honorarium. His retainership fee has been increased from Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000. Now it will be further increased to Rs 10,000.

Decision to increase security in jails

Cabinet approves purchase of sniffer dogs to enhance security in prisons. This step has been taken to stop criminal activities and drug trafficking.
