The player auction of Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL) Season-2 will be held on November 3 in Noida. Two new teams Aligarh Tigers and Kanpur Warriors will be added. There will be 10 teams and 64 matches in the season starting from December 25. New tagline “Apna Bharat, Apna Khel” released.

The thrill of Kabaddi is about to return once again in Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL) has announced that the player auction of season 2 will be held on 3 November 2025 in Noida. This time the scope of the league is going to be even bigger, because instead of eight teams, now a total of 10 teams will enter the field. Also, the new tagline of Season 2 has also been released, “Apna Bharat, Apna Khel, Khel Raha Hai Mera Pradesh.”

10 teams will be included in season-2 of UPKL

This time two new franchises, Aligarh Tigers and Kanpur Warriors will join the league. At the same time, last season's teams like Lucknow Lions, Yamuna Yoddha, Noida Ninja, Kashi Kings, Awadh Ramdoot, Bridge Stars, Sangam Challengers and Ganga Kings of Mirzapur will again compete. Each team has been given a budget of ₹12 lakh to auction their players, with a total bid of around ₹1.2 crore expected.

Pool of 500 players, bidding will be held in 4 categories

This time 500 players have been selected for the league, whereas last season 350 players were included. Players have been divided into four categories – A, B, C and D. Their base price has been fixed as follows:

  • Category A: ₹1,00,000
  • Category B: ₹60,000
  • Category C: ₹40,000
  • Category D: ₹25,000

It will be mandatory for every franchise to take at least 3 players from A category, 4 each from B and C and 3 players from D category. This will maintain the balance of every team.

In this auction, CricBattle company has been made the official auction partner. This company will ensure technically transparent and fair auction. SJ Uplift Kabaddi Pvt. Ltd. Founder Sambhav Jain said –

Season 2 will start from December 25, 64 matches will be held in Noida

Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League Season-2 will start from 25 December 2025. Around 64 matches will be played during this period. All team owners, representatives and league officials will be present at the auction. UPKL aims to professionalize and popularize indigenous games like Kabaddi through a modern league structure.
