This month is a festive month across the country. October marks major festivals like Dussehra, Diwali, and Chhath. Diwali and Chhath will be celebrated across the country in the coming days. In light of this, states have begun announcing school holidays. Diwali is celebrated in states like Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Rajasthan, while Chhath is a special festival in Bihar. Holidays have begun in Rajasthan.

According to an order issued by Rajasthan's Director of Secondary Education, Sitaram Jat, the Diwali holidays in the state have been extended. Previously scheduled from October 16th to 27th, the holidays will now be effective from October 13th. However, the total holiday period will remain 12 days, including Sunday (October 12th). During this period, all government and private schools in the Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Udaipur, Ajmer, and Kota divisions will remain closed. Schools in Rajasthan will now reopen on October 25th.

4 Days of Holidays in Uttar Pradesh
Schools in Uttar Pradesh have been declared closed from October 20th to 23rd due to Diwali. Since October 19th is a Sunday, this adds another day to the holiday. The government order will apply to all government and private schools.

Longer Holidays in Bihar
Schools in Bihar have been declared closed from October 20th to 29th, 2025, due to the Diwali and Chhath festivals. Consequently, the state will experience a total of 10 days of holidays. These holidays will apply to all government and private schools.

5 Days of Holidays in Haryana
Schools in Haryana will be closed from October 19th to 23rd, 2025, due to the Diwali festival. This will provide a total of 5 days of holiday for students and teachers. Holidays have also been announced in other Hindi-speaking states, including Delhi and Himachal Pradesh. Candidates can obtain information from their respective schools. Keep in mind that holidays may fall on different days depending on the state.
