In a major initiative to support low-income families, the Haryana government has announced the allotment of residential plots to nearly 9,000 eligible beneficiaries across 15 districts. The move comes as part of Chief Minister Gramin Awas Yojana–II, which aims to provide affordable housing solutions for economically weaker sections of society.

Officials say the plot distribution draws are being held today, October 14, 2025, across multiple districts, making this Diwali season especially joyous for thousands of families awaiting their own piece of land.

Allotment Across 15 Districts

According to government sources, the residential plots are being allotted in Bhiwani, Faridabad, Fatehabad, Hisar, Jhajjar, Kaithal, Karnal, Yamunanagar, Sonipat, Sirsa, Rohtak, Panipat, Nuh, Narnaul, and Kurukshetra districts.

Each selected family will receive a 100-square-yard plot, while beneficiaries in Mahagram Satnali and Malab villages will get 50-square-yard plots. These allotments are part of the state’s ongoing effort to ensure housing access for all underprivileged citizens living in both rural and semi-urban areas.

Previous Phase Benefited Thousands

This is not the first phase of the Chief Minister Gramin Awas Yojana–II. Earlier, the state government had distributed temporary ownership certificates to 3,884 beneficiaries from 58 gram panchayats in Panchkula and 1,144 beneficiaries from Sector 23, Jagadhri (Yamunanagar).

In the first phase, around 15,256 families across 14 cities were allotted 30-square-yard plots, each priced at approximately ₹1 lakh. The success of that phase has now encouraged the government to expand the initiative and include more eligible families.

Financial Aid for House Construction

The Haryana government isn’t stopping at land distribution alone—it’s also offering financial support for house construction under central and state schemes.

  • Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Urban 2.0, beneficiaries in urban areas will receive a subsidy of ₹2.5 lakh.

  • Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Gramin, beneficiaries in rural areas will get ₹1.38 lakh.

  • In addition, ₹12,000 will be provided under the Swachh Bharat Mission for toilet construction.

  • Beneficiaries will also be eligible for 90 days of wage support under MGNREGA, further helping them manage construction costs.

This integrated support system ensures that every family not only gets a piece of land but also the means to build a permanent home.

Major Progress in Affordable Housing

So far, the Haryana government has successfully constructed 69,150 houses in rural areas, spending ₹579 crore, and extended ₹1,650 crore in financial aid for building 77,900 urban homes.

Looking ahead, the state is preparing to extend housing benefits to an even larger group: 1.58 lakh applicants across 561 villages and 15,000 urban families in 16 cities. The next phase of allotments is expected to roll out soon.

A Step Toward a ‘Home for All’ Vision

This large-scale housing initiative reflects Haryana’s commitment to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Housing for All.” By combining land allotment with financial assistance, the government is addressing both affordability and accessibility challenges for the underprivileged.

For thousands of families, owning a home will not just mean financial stability—it will symbolize dignity, security, and hope. As officials describe, this initiative is set to make the upcoming festive season truly special for many who have long dreamed of having a place to call their own.
