Diwali Tips in Hindi: A few days are left for the Diwali festival, preparations for which have started in many homes. Before Diwali, the period of cleaning starts in the houses and they also buy items and idols for puja. On the occasion of Diwali, there is a ritual to worship Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha. It is necessary to buy a new idol every year for worship. It is said that from Goddess Lakshmi we get wealth and prosperity and from Ganeshji we get wisdom, due to which money is used properly. It is important to follow some rules on the occasion of Diwali, especially while shopping for idols.

Why does the idol change every year?

Every year on Diwali, idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Shri Ganesh are bought. It is said that the same idols should not be worshiped every year. The rules say that, if you have old Ganesh Lakshmi idols then immerse them. If you have silver Ganesh-Lakshmi idols, then you can clean them with Ganga water and use them in Diwali worship.

Keep this in mind while buying idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Ganeshji.

  1. While making idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Ganeshji for Diwali worship, one should see that the idols should not be bought joined together. To keep in the puja house on Diwali, the idols of Lakshmi and Ganesh should be different.
  2. While buying the idol of Ganesha, buy only the idol with modak in the hand of Ganesha. Such idols bring happiness and prosperity to the house.
  3. It is also necessary to have Mushak Maharaj along with the Ganesh ji idol.
  4. Do not buy any such idol in which Goddess Lakshmi is seated on her vehicle, an owl. Mother Lakshmi sitting on an owl is considered a symbol of Kali idol.
  5. While buying Lakshmi idol, keep in mind that Goddess Lakshmi should be seated on a lotus flower. His hand should be in Varamudra and showering wealth.
  6. Do not buy the idol of Lakshmi Mata in which Mata is standing. Such idols depict the departure posture of Goddess Lakshmi, hence you should buy the idol of seated Goddess Lakshmi.

Bring home only clay idols of Lord Ganesha – Goddess Lakshmi.

On the occasion of Diwali, it is auspicious to bring home only clay idols of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi. It is said that Lord Ganesha’s complexion is red or white, on the other hand, clay is made by Lord Brahma and in the religious scriptures, there is a provision to worship only the idol made of clay. It is said that if an idol of Ganesha-Lakshmi is made from the soil of Gangaji, pond, well or cow shed and then worshiped, it brings benefits. If you have idols of Ganesh Lakshmi made of gold and silver, then they can be worshiped after washing them with Ganga water.
