‘Adult Revolution’ in the world of AI: Now erotic stories will be entered in ChatGPT

In the world of artificial intelligence (AI) OpenAI has taken a step that will spark debate not only on digital content but also on the ethics of technology in the coming months. OpenAI has announced that from December 2025, ChatGPT will allow verified adult users to access erotic content i.e. content based on sensitive and adult topics.

The company is calling it “Treat adult users like adults”. This means that ChatGPT will now allow conversations, story writing or imaginative dialogue on topics that were previously restricted – provided users verify their age.

Why did OpenAI change its attitude?

This decision did not come suddenly. Over the past few months, OpenAI has been criticized for imposing excessive controls on ChatGPT, making it “less useful and less human-like”. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said on

Actually, this step is a result of the relaxation of security rules imposed after the suicide of a California teenager Adam Raine. After that incident, OpenAI imposed many strict limits on ChatGPT, so that no user could receive mental or suicidal advice.

Now, Altman says OpenAI has developed new tools to tackle “serious mental health risks,” so “restrictions can now be safely loosened for general users.”

‘Verified Adults’ program will start from December

The company is going to launch Age Verification System in December 2025. Under this, users who can verify their age will be given access to “erotic and mature content”. But, this content will not appear automatically. The user himself has to demand such content. According to Altman, “Erotic content will only be visible to those who request it themselves. It will have no impact on the experience of other users.”

With this feature, ChatGPT will introduce a new mode in which users can set the tone, personality and style – like friendly, emotional, flirty or professional. This means you can now ask ChatGPT to respond “like a human,” use emojis, or behave like a friend.

New limits of safety and responsibility

OpenAI has also clarified that there will be a separate version of ChatGPT for users under 18 years of age. This version will automatically filter content to graphic, violent or sexual topics. Apart from this, the company is also developing a behavior-based age detection technology, which will be able to identify from the chatting pattern of the user whether he is a minor or not. This move is in line with the laws of countries where AI ethics and child protection laws are extremely strict – such as the US, European Union and Japan.

But this decision is surrounded by controversies

This decision is as new as it is controversial. AI experts and digital policy analysts believe that this step is a major turning point towards “commercialization of AI”.

Challenge of data privacy: Users may have to provide their identity or government documents for verification, which will raise serious questions on data security.

What will be the limit of erotic content? OpenAI has not yet clarified to what level “erotica” will be allowed. Will it be limited only to literary imagination or will it also include dialogues, characters and scenes?

Impact on mental health: Many psychologists say that if erotic content is made available without balance, it may affect the mental state of some users.

Legal complications: Legal controls on adult content are extremely strict in many countries. In such a situation, there is no clarity yet on whether this feature will be implemented in every country or not.

New race for tech companies: ‘Human-like AI’

This step of OpenAI is not just an ethical or technological experiment, but is also to market competition. Grok of Elon Musk’s company xAI, and Claude 3 of Anthropic have already launched flirty and emotional chat modes. In such a situation, this update of ChatGPT is an attempt to bring OpenAI back to the top in the race of AI chatbots.

Altman himself said, “If you want your ChatGPT to talk like a human, use emojis, or laugh like you, then let it do so – but only if you want it to.”

Will the limits of AI change in the future?

It is clear that OpenAI is now moving towards making ChatGPT “less machine and more human”. This update coming in December will not only bring revolutionary changes in content policy, but will also raise the question – is AI ready to touch the limits of human desires, sensibilities and imaginations? Because when erotic imagery is added to artificial intelligence, it is no longer just technology – it becomes a new definition of society, culture and morality.
