RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday filed his nomination from the Raghopur assembly constituency for the third time, accompanied by his father and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, mother and former CM Rabri Devi, sister and MP Misa Bharti, and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Yadav.
A large number of supporters lined the route as the RJD leaders took several hours to cover the 40-km journey from Patna to the Hajipur sub-divisional office.
"Along with Tejashwi Yadav, today every person in Bihar has filed a nomination to become the CM - the change-maker of Bihar. The dream of taking Bihar forward is now on the threshold of reality," Tejashwi said after filing his papers. "The nomination has been filed, and the people of Bihar are set to stamp their approval for change on November 14. Every section of Bihar is saying a new revolution is about to take place."
Notably, no leader from alliance partners Congress, CPI(ML)-L or VIP was present during the nomination.
In Lakhisarai, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha filed his nomination for the fifth time. He was joined by Union minister and Begusarai MP Giriraj Singh, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, and Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary. The leaders addressed a public meeting after the nomination.
"I am overwhelmed to file my nomination from Lakhisarai for the fifth time. The unwavering trust, affection, and support you have shown me over the past two decades are my greatest strength," Sinha said, adding the development achieved across sectors like education, employment, agriculture, and infrastructure was a result of "collective strength."
