Salma Agha and Raj Kapoors Relationship
For the unversed Raj Kapoor was Salma Aghas cousin. Salma’s maternal grandfather Jugal Kishore Mehra was the first cousin of Raj Kapoors father Prithviraj Kapoor making Salma Agha a distant relative of the Kapoor family.
Raj shared a good bond with Salma and wanted to cast her as the lead actress in his film Henna. However the families intervened and Salma had to lose the role. Henna later featured Rishi Kapoor.
Who Was Salma Agha?
Salma Agha was born in Karachi Pakistan in 1954. Her father Liaquat Gul Tajik was a precious stone and antiques dealer and her mother Nasreen was the daughter of renowned musician Rafiq Ghaznavi and actress Anwari Begum.
After her debut in 1982 Salma went on to become one of the most famous actresses of her time.
