Vivo has introduced OriginOS 6
Vivo has released its next-generation operating system, OriginOS 6, marking a major global rollout focused on AI, design, and performance. The new platform introduces a host of refinements across system smoothness, interface design, and intelligent assistance, reflecting the brand’s ongoing push to evolve the human–device experience in the AI era.

At the core of OriginOS 6 is the Origin Smooth Engine, designed to coordinate computing, storage, and display modules for consistently responsive performance. vivo claims improvements such as faster app launches, steadier frame rates, and a more fluid touch response—enhancements aimed at creating what it calls a “smoothness you can see, feel, and rely on.” The system also features Snap-Up Engine technology for prioritizing high-demand tasks, and has received SGS certification for sustained smoothness over simulated long-term use.

On the design front, OriginOS 6 builds on vivo’s Origin Design philosophy, drawing inspiration from nature to create a cleaner and more tactile digital environment. The OS introduces vivo Sans2, supporting over 40 languages, and features Dynamic Glow and Translucent Color effects for added depth. Personalization takes center stage with flexible lock screen and home screen layouts, adaptive folders, and new Flip Cards that bring photos and widgets to life.

A major highlight is the integration of vivo AI, developed in collaboration with Google. With tools like Gemini and Circle to Search, and features such as Origin Island, the OS aims to make contextual interactions and multitasking more seamless. AI-driven tools for photo editing, productivity, and cross-device collaboration further extend its capabilities across daily scenarios.

The new system also places emphasis on privacy and efficiency, introducing enhanced vivo Security safeguards and BlueVolt power management technology for better endurance and charging stability.

OriginOS 6 will begin its global rollout from November 2025, with availability varying by market.

“For years, vivo has deepened its global presence under the principle of ‘More Local, More Global,’ and continues to create products and experiences that stay true to users’ needs,” said SHI Yujian, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at vivo. “As we celebrate vivo’s 30th anniversary, we are taking the next step with the global debut of OriginOS. Guided by our ‘Origin Design’ philosophy and built on three core pillars of smoothness, design and AI, the brand new OriginOS 6 reimagines the way people connect with the digital world.”
