New Delhi: TVS Motor Company has officially entered the adventure tourer motorcycle space with the launch of the all-new Apache RTX 300, priced at an introductory ₹1.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The move signals TVS’ foray into a fast-growing segment dominated by models like the BMW G 310 GS and the Royal Enfield Himalayan.
The Apache RTX is based on the company’s new RT-XD4 engine platform, which has been built entirely in-house using TVS’ racing and rally experience. It packs a 299.1cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder DOHC engine that produces 36PS of power at 9,000rpm and 28.5Nm of torque at 7,000rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox and an assist-and-slipper clutch.
Built for both highways and dirtThe RTX is designed as a hybrid of a rally bike and a highway tourer. It features a steel trellis frame, ride-by-wire throttle, and a bi-directional quickshifter, something rarely seen at this price point. Suspension duties are handled by long-travel WP units, with an inverted cartridge fork up front and a mono-tube floating piston shock at the rear. The setup is aimed at improving damping and stability on uneven terrain.
Riders can switch between four ride modes, Urban, Rain, Tour, and Rally, which alter traction control, ABS sensitivity, and throttle response. The motorcycle also includes cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring system, and a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and map mirroring.
TVS says the bike’s rally-style ergonomics offer balanced weight distribution, a low seat height, and a comfortable rider triangle, something both short and tall riders will appreciate during long rides or off-road stretches.
Design and coloursThe Apache RTX 300 carries a muscular, rally-inspired look with a mono-volume design, integrating the tank and headlamp area. It sports a Class-D LED headlamp with dynamic DRLs, tail-lamp blades, and speed-linked light intensity control. Buyers can pick from five colour options, Viper Green, Metallic Blue, Pearl White, Lightning Black, and Tarn Bronze, all accented with signature Apache red touches.
For touring enthusiasts, TVS offers several accessories including bash plates, knuckle guards, USB chargers, tank protectors, and luggage mounts compatible with GIVI panniers.
Pricing and variantsThe Apache RTX 300 will be available in three variants across TVS dealerships:
With this launch, TVS joins the list of Indian manufacturers investing in the mid-capacity adventure bike segment, which has seen growing interest from both young riders and seasoned tourers in recent years.
