Nestle’s new CEO Philipp Navratil announced plans to cut around 16000 jobs about 6% of its global workforce over the next two years. The announcement came during the company’s Q2 results where the world’s largest packaged food maker reported stronger-than-expected sales growth supported by higher prices for its coffee and confectionery products Reuters reported. Nestle To Cut 16000 Jobs As part of its ongoing efficiency and growth initiatives Nestlé said it will trim its global headcount by 16000 including 12000 white-collar roles and 4000 positions in manufacturing and supply chain. The company currently employs approximately 2.7 lakh people worldwide. “The world is changing and Nestlé needs to change faster” he said before announcing “This will include making hard but necessary decisions to reduce headcount over the next two years.” Nestle India Q2 Results FMCG major Nestle India Ltd on Thursday reported a 17.37 per cent decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 743.17 crore for the September 2025 quarter. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 899.5 crore in the July-September quarter a year ago according to a regulatory filing by Nestle India which owns popular brands such as Maggi Nescafé and Kit Kat. Its revenue increased 11 per cent to Rs 5630.23 crore in the September quarter marking the highest sales ever recorded in any quarter. It was Rs 5074.76 crore in the corresponding period of the last fiscal year. The total expenses of Nestle India rose 12.9 per cent to Rs 4616.73 crore in the second quarter of this financial year.   In the September quarter Nestle Indias domestic sales climbed 10.8 per cent to Rs 5411.02 crore as against Rs 4883.14 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. Chairman and Managing Director Manish Tiwary said domestic sales grew at a double-digit rate led by volume growth. (With Inputs From PTI)
