The Iris Affair, a thrilling new series, is set to premiere tonight (Thursday, 16th October) on Sky, featuring two familiar faces from the world of film and television.
Penned by Luther's Neil Cross, the plot unfolds as a highly intelligent woman is recruited by a wealthy tech investor to decipher the code of a sophisticated supercomputer.
However, upon discovering that the computer was deactivated by its creator due to ominous reasons, she absconds with the enigmatic cipher, with her employers hot on her heels.
Irish actress Niamh Algar takes centre stage as Iris Nixon, the clever fugitive laying low in Italy.
Cameron Beck, portrayed by Tom Hollander, is the ambitious investor doggedly pursuing the elusive code in Iris' possession, reports the Mirror.
Algar may be recognised by viewers from the ITV drama Playing Nice aired earlier this year, as well as the historical miniseries Mary and George slated for 2024. Her other credits include Culprits, Malpractice and Suspects, along with films The Wonder, Wrath of Man and Censor.
Hollander, on the other hand, has graced numerous popular British films, including Pride and Prejudice, In the Loop and About Time.
He is also renowned for his antagonistic role as Lord Cutler Beckett in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and featured in The White Lotus season two alongside Jennifer Coolidge.
The Iris Affair's star-studded cast includes Game of Thrones' Kristofer Hivju, known for his role as Tormund Giantsbane. He plays Jensen Lind, the mastermind behind the supercomputer.
Hivju has also graced the screen in The Fate of the Furious, Cocaine Bear and Red One.
Harry Lloyd from Prime Target takes on the character of Hugo Pym. Lloyd is recognised for his roles in BBC's Robin Hood and Doctor Who, as well as the FX series Legion.
Joining him is another Doctor Who alumnus, Sacha Dhawan, who portrays Alfie. Dhawan is renowned for his portrayal of the Master during Jodie Whittaker's stint as the Time Lord.
His other notable appearances include The Great, Suspect and Wolf.
Newcomer Mereana Tomlinson also joins the cast in her debut acting role as Joy. Despite being new to the scene, she is set to leave a mark with several key scenes alongside Hollander's Cameron.
