IRCTC tatkal booking: Now lakhs of people are seen getting worried in the rush of Diwali, because it has become very difficult to book tickets on the railway ticket website IRCTC app. IRCTC site is temporarily not available on 17th October, the website is down. Due to which people booking Tatkal tickets are facing a lot of problems.
Usually Tatkal ticket booking starts at 10:00 in IRCTC. While booking of Tatkal tickets for sleeper class starts from 11:00, but even before the Tatkal booking opened on the IRCTC platform on October 17, it went down around 10:40, causing problems to the people.

When IRCTC is down, they are continuously giving their reaction on X which was earlier Twitter. In which one user wrote, “What is the problem with @IRCTCofficial at this time? Yesterday, payment was not being made. Today the website itself is closed. Worst service. What are @RailMinIndia @AshwiniVaishnaw doing? Only promoting indigenous apps made in America?”
Another user wrote in the post, “Once again, IRCTC servers go down during Tatkal booking in the middle of Diwali. When will IRCTC get a reliable system to handle the peak traffic? Railways need better technology for the world’s largest passenger network.”
Another user, who was unable to go home on Diwali, posted, “I was planning to go home by train on Diwali, but when I opened the IRCTC website to book tatkal ticket, the website was down and now I will not be able to go home. Thanks @IRCTCofficial @RailMinIndia @AshwiniVaishnaw.”
There are many such IRCTC customers who are facing this problem. Due to which he is feeling disappointed on the occasion of festival because he could not meet his loved ones.
Even before this, IRCTC has faced problems which have been talked about earlier also. But due to lack of improvement till now, disappointment is clearly visible among the people.
