Madhya Pradesh Tourism is ushering modernity into timeless heritage; bringing contemporary facilities to the State’s countless ancient monuments. This fusion of heritage, nature and adventure in the heart of India aspires to position Madhya Pradesh as a premier global tourism hub.

Madhya Pradesh, which has a distinct place on India’s historical map, seeks to offer travellers a truly immersive visual journey. Here, modern luxury unfolds in harmony with the spirit of ancient heritage sites. By seamlessly blending preservation with progress, the State Tourism Board envisions an experience that captivates both the connoisseur of history and the seeker of contemporary indulgence.

To advance this vision, the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Department and the Archaeological Survey of India have signed a memorandum of understanding to elevate tourist facilities at all ASI-protected monuments to global standards.

Sanchi Golf Course: In close proximity to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sanchi, a grand Rs 246-crore project is on the horizon. Envisioned are villas with 217 luxury rooms, five specialty restaurants and an 18-hole international golf course - a destination where the splendour of ancient heritage meets the elegance of modern luxury living.

Nasarpur Island Wellness: Set amidst the serene waters of the Indirasagar Reservoir, the picturesque Nasarpur Island is being developed into a world-class wellness retreat at an investment of Rs 140 crore. The project envisions 106 luxury rooms complemented by a holistic wellness centre offering spa therapies, meditation, yoga and a range of water-based recreational experiences.

Glamping, not Camping: Breaking away from convention, Madhya Pradesh is taking to the allure of glamping, glamorous camping that blends comfort with adventure. Agreements have been signed to establish at least 50 luxury tents across destinations such as Hanumantiya, Tamia, Mandu and Orchha. This should transform these scenic locales into vibrant hubs of adventure tourism spanning land, air and water experiences.

Village Vibes: The Village Vibes exhibition, a big attraction of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Mart, has succeeded in bringing the authentic essence of rural Madhya Pradesh to the global stage. Live demonstrations of traditional arts such as Gond painting and Chanderi saree weaving, coupled with the inviting flavours of the rustic kitchen, offered visitors - especially those from abroad, a captivating glimpse into the State’s vibrant countryside soul.

Homestay Entrepreneurship: This initiative empowers rural homestay operators by creating direct linkages with international tour operators. It aims to ensure that tourism-driven income translates into tangible improvements in the lives of local entrepreneurs, fostering inclusive growth across communities.

Helicopter services: Madhya Pradesh has introduced regional helicopter services that will help bridge the connectivity gap between remote tourist destinations. This initiative links sacred pilgrimage centres such as Ujjain and Omkareshwar with renowned wildlife sanctuaries like Bandhavgarh and Kanha, offering a different travel experience for time-conscious explorers.
