With a perfect blend of coming-of-age stories and candid banter, Bollywood comedy kings Govinda and Chunky Pandey set the tone for the fourth episode of Prime Video’s ‘Too Much with Kajol & Twinkle’, which will be streaming on October 16, 2025. Hosted by Kajol and Twinkle Khanna, the duo – who are famous for hits like ‘Aankhen’ (1993) – shared fun anecdotes from family relationships to Shah Rukh Khan and banana-inspired pop collabs, taking the conversation down to 90s nostalgia.
Chunky Pandey rocks Shah Rukh Khan’s debut: His maternal uncle, Colonel Raj Kapoor – a character actor – produced the iconic TV series *Fauji* in 1988, which shot Shah Rukh to stardom as Lieutenant Abhimanyu Rai. Talking about their unbreakable relationship, Chunky said, “No one in our family ever became an actor… but my maternal uncle, Colonel Raj Kapoor, made *Fauji* with Shahrukh.” The revelation shocked the hosts, when Twinkle took a dig at Chunky’s nickname of “Chaddi Pandey” due to his skimpy 80s clothes and dubbed Govinda the “Chaddi Badshah”.
Govinda’s most special character? His surreal cameo in *Rock Dancer* in 1995, in which he danced to “Traffic Jam” with British pop star Samantha Fox – was thanks to Bappi Lahiri’s vision. Remembering how director Subir Mukherjee’s mother had helped him in difficult times, Govinda symbolically waived his fees with a dozen bananas and a coconut. “When I saw her on set… Oh my God, Samantha Fox!” He said, causing Chucky to laugh in jealousy.
Delving deeper, Govinda reveals the secret of his famous dances: Despite not being formally trained, he credits choreographer Kamal Master for his soulful “Govinda Style”. Comparing Saroj Khan’s technical education, Govinda said, “She taught me to dance without speaking—to bring out emotions from songs.” He recalled his assistant Ganesh Acharya, now a top choreographer, bearing the scoldings with silent tears.
Son of heart surgeon Sharad Pandey and physician Snehlata—who was previously Bollywood’s go-to doctor for stars like Rekha—Chunky shed light on his entry into the film world despite “adversities”. “My parents were doctors, but mom knew the entire industry,” she said, reminiscing about Twinkle’s diaper-era memories.
From Chunky’s Bangladeshi superstardom—which started with a bathroom producer meet—to Govinda’s tribute to Rajesh Khanna, the episode is full of warmth and wit. *Too Much*, conceptualized by Banijay Asia and presented by OPPO—delivers new twists every Thursday, a mix of insight and irreverence.
