Ruth Codd has revealed her biggest disappointment from her stint on The Celebrity Traitors, following her savage 'murder' which was broadcast during Wednesday's (15 October) episode. The Irish actress, 29, became the third Faithful to be eliminated by the trio of Traitors - Jonathan Ross, Alan Carr and Cat Burns - after she had persistently voiced her doubts about Jonathan being a Traitor. Reflecting on her journey, Ruth confessed: "I mean... to say it's been surreal... I'm not sure that I'm not about to be woken up from a very weird dream."

She subsequently disclosed that whilst she had discovered much about herself, she did feel remorse for not defending her fellow Faithful, Niko Omilana, who became the first contestant to be voted out after suspicion increasingly fell upon him. "I think at the first one, I didn't say enough, and I kind of held back, because that's what everyone else was doing," Ruth explained regarding the roundtables.

"Even though I didn't vote for Niko, I also didn't stand up for him. I do really regret that."

She then revealed that witnessing how everyone had swiftly turned against Niko encouraged her to become more outspoken about her views on the programme, reports the Mirror.

"After that, I was ready and determined to always voice my opinion. I knew it was probably going to get me murdered, but the guilt after Niko left made me think that I'm not going to go through the rest of the game feeling like this. I played honestly, true to my opinions and leave with no regrets," she added.

Meanwhile, Ruth confessed that she was ultimately relieved to have been selected as a Faithful, as she appreciated not having to deceive her fellow stars and realised she is a "loyal person" who naturally aligned with the Faithfuls.

Ruth expressed immense respect for her fellow Traitors stars Clare Balding, Charlotte Church and Celia Imrie, dubbing the trio "amazing" and stating they "made the experience" for her.

Ruth was the third celebrity to be killed off on the BBC One show, following singer Paloma Faith and Olympian Tom Daley.

ouTuber Niko Omilana was the first to be expelled, followed by EastEnders favourite Tameka Empson and TV presenter Clare Balding.

Thursday's (16 October) episode concluded with another suspenseful moment, as Jonathan, Alan and Cat deliberated over their next target, with the trio divided between Charlotte Church, Kate Garraway, David Olusoga and Mark Bonnar.

The Celebrity Traitors airs on Wednesday and Thursday on BBC One at 9pm. Episodes are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
