New Delhi . 18 out of 28 matches have been played in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup League Stage, but so far only one team has got the semi-final ticket. This team is the defending champion Australia, who has won 4 out of their 5 matches so far, while one of their matches was lost due to rain. Australia has confirmed its place in the semi-finals with 9 points. Now there is a fight between 7 teams for the remaining 3 places because till now not a single team has been officially eliminated from the tournament. But if seen, the chances of Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka qualifying are negligible. In such a situation, only South Africa, England, India and New Zealand remain in the race. Let’s take a look at the semi-final equation of the Women’s World Cup-

South Africa (5 matches, 8 points)

South Africa did not have a good start in the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, they had to face defeat by 10 wickets in the very first match against England. However, they learned from this defeat and won the next four consecutive matches. The African team is at second position in the points table with 8 points and is very close to making it to the semi-finals. South Africa’s next two matches are against Pakistan and Australia. As soon as they win a match, they will also get a ticket for the semi-finals.

England (4 matches, 7 points)

Like South Africa, England is also one win away from getting a ticket to the semi-finals. Apart from Australia, England is the only other team who has not faced defeat in the tournament. Out of 4, they have won three matches, while one match against Pakistan was lost due to rain. England’s next three matches are against India, Australia and New Zealand. These three matches will be difficult for them, but a win can get them a ticket to the semi-finals.

India (4 matches, 4 points)

Team India, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, had a great start in the Women’s World Cup, beating Sri Lanka and Pakistan badly. But after this their car went off the track of victory and they had to face defeat in the next two matches against South Africa and Australia. If India wants to make it to the semi-finals without any problems, they will have to win all three remaining matches, while a defeat may force them to depend on other teams. India’s next three matches are against England, New Zealand and Bangladesh.

New Zealand (4 matches, 3 points)

Out of the 4 matches played so far, New Zealand has won one, lost 2 and one was lost due to rain, despite this the Kiwi team is in the race for the semi-finals. Pakistan’s next three matches are against Pakistan, India and England. By winning these three matches, the team can reach maximum 9 points, in such a situation they can get a ticket for the semi-finals. At the same time, a defeat may force them to depend on the results of other teams.
