The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a special Diwali gift for women under the PM Ujjwala Yojana 2025. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath confirmed that around 1.86 crore women in the state will receive free LPG cylinders under this scheme. When Will Free Cylinders Be Provided?

Women who are already beneficiaries of PM Ujjwala Yojana will receive two free cylinders per year:

• Phase 1: October 2025 – December 2025

• Phase 2: January 2026 – March 2026

Each cylinder will be 14.2 kg, provided either free or at a subsidized cost.

Who Will Not Be Eligible?

• Women who are not registered under PM Ujjwala Yojana

• Women whose Aadhaar verification is incomplete

The scheme aims to make cooking easier for women and reduce household expenses.

Eligibility Criteria for New PMUY Connections

Only women aged 18 or above can apply, and families must belong to one of the following categories:

• Scheduled Castes (SC) & Scheduled Tribes (ST) families

• Families under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural)

• Most Backward Classes (MBC) families

• Poor families under Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY)

• Families working in tea gardens

• Tribal residents and people living on islands or river islands

• Economically weaker households identified under SECC

Important: Families should not already have an LPG connection.

How to Apply for PMUY LPG Connection

1. Collect the Application Form: Download from the official government website or obtain from the nearest LPG distributor.

2. Fill KYC Forms:

   • KYC Form: For identity and bank details

   • Supplementary KYC & Undertaking: For additional information

   • Annexure 1: Self-declaration for migrant families

   • Annexure 2: Pre-installation checklist for LPG connection

3. Complete the Form: Enter personal details, bank account info, and preferred LPG distributor.

4. Attach Required Documents:

   • Proof of Identity (Aadhaar or other valid ID)

   • Address Proof

   • Proof of poverty category (BPL card or equivalent)

5. Submit the Form: Submit the completed form and documents to the nearest LPG distributor.
