It is considered extremely auspicious to purchase items to money especially on this day. If you are also planning to buy something on Dhanteras, then this news is for you. People mostly buy gold and silver jewellery, new vehicles, property and utensils from the markets. But according to beliefs, there are some items which should not be bought even by mistake on the day of Dhanteras, because bringing these items home brings poverty and angers Goddess Lakshmi.

Oil and Ghee- Buying oil or ghee on the day of Dhanteras is considered inauspicious on the day of Dhanteras (Dhanteras 2025). Also, this time Dhanteras is Saturday i.e. today.
