Meerut. Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister and veteran Congress leader Harish Rawat had a narrow escape when his car collided with a police escort vehicle on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. The front part of his Innova car was badly damaged in the accident. After this, he was immediately shifted to another vehicle and sent to Dehradun.
On Saturday evening, Harish Rawat was going from Delhi to Dehradun with his convoy. As soon as they reached the border of Meerut, the police provided them an escort for security. The escort vehicle was moving ahead while blowing the hooter and Rawat’s convoy was behind. But since it was Saturday, the traffic pressure on Delhi-Dehradun highway was very high.
Near MIET College, the escort vehicle suddenly applied brakes, due to which Harish Rawat’s car following behind collided with it. The collision was so strong that the front part of his Innova car was completely damaged.
After the accident, Harish Rawat was immediately taken out of his damaged vehicle and shifted to another vehicle in the convoy. The police parked the damaged Innova on the side of the highway and later it was taken to Toyota’s agency with the help of Partapur police.
SP Traffic Raghavendra Mishra spoke to Harish Rawat and inquired about his condition. Rawat said that he is completely healthy and has no injuries. After this he was safely sent to Dehradun with police escort.
Meerut SSP Dr. Vipin Tada said that this accident happened due to sudden braking of the escort vehicle. He confirmed that the former Chief Minister is completely safe and has been sent to Dehradun with police escort.
Despite the accident, Harish Rawat is completely healthy. His car was parked at the Toyota agency and the police took him safely to the Muzaffarnagar border. Although this accident shocked his convoy, everyone is praising the courage and courage of the former CM.
