Elahi Bux Khan, who has recently come into the limelight for his intense portrayal of Zeeshan in the critically acclaimed drama Jama Taqseemis quickly making a name for himself as a promising young talent in the Pakistani entertainment industry. The drama, known for its bold and socially relevant storyline, has sparked important conversations — particularly the harassment arc involving Zeeshan and his cousin Sidra, portrayed powerfully by two emerging actors.
In a candid interview with FUCHSIA Magazine, Elahi opened up about his personal journey, his fears around playing such a controversial character, and the support system that keeps him grounded.
Hailing from Mirpur Khas, Elahi comes from a feudal family that owns mango orchards. Despite his traditional background, he always leaned toward the arts. Initially enrolled in an IT program at FAST, he later switched to NAPA (National Academy of Performing Arts) — a move that changed his life. Even before graduating, he landed his debut TV role, confirming that he was on the right path.
Speaking about his role as Zeeshan, Elahi admitted he was hesitant at first. “I didn’t want the audience to only see a villain,” he said. Director Ali Hassan reassured him that the character was layered and essential to the plot’s message. Drawing from his theatre background, Elahi embraced the challenge, determined to do justice to the role and deliver a performance that sparked reflection.
Despite his rising fame, Elahi remains deeply connected to his roots. He describes himself as family-oriented, with a strong bond with his parents and sister. “They’re my support system,” he shared, adding that he turns to them for advice and emotional support.
With Jama TaqseemElahi Bux Khan has not only proven his acting mettle but also positioned himself as a socially conscious artist — one to watch in the years to come.
