Poundland is closing two stores next week as three others launch their closing down sales. Customers in Deal, Kent; West Thurrock, Essex; and Cameron Toll, Edinburgh, may soon see their local store depart the high street.
The Deal and West Thurrock branches will close on October 27. The Edinburgh store will stay open over Christmas before permanently closing its doors on January 20.
Poundland has already closed several stores this year as it looks to reduce its more than 800 stores to between 650 and 700.
The company was acquired by Brothers, who bought Poundland from PepCo.
The new owners plan to bring back simple prices such as £1, £2 and £3 while reducing the amount of food sold in stores.
As a result, Poundland has also closed one of its distribution centres.
Poundland is poised to close 11 more stores across the UK in October and November, and January.
