Garib Rath Express Catches Fire: A major train accident took place near Sirhind station in Punjab on Saturday morning. Here a bogie of Garib Rath Express going from Ludhiana to Delhi suddenly caught fire. After which there was panic among the passengers and people saved their lives by jumping from the train. There is no news of any death in this accident yet.

According to the information, fire broke out in train number 12204 (Amritsar-Saharsa Garib Rath Express) at Sirhind Junction (SIR). In the preliminary investigation, the cause of the fire is said to be short circuit. It is being told that the fire broke out in number 19 AC bogie of the train. Many passengers traveling in which were from Ludhiana. There was panic among the passengers after seeing smoke suddenly coming out from the bogie. During this time, the train was crossing Sirhind station, but as soon as the pilot got information about the fire, he stopped the train by applying emergency brakes. After which all the passengers got down safely.

As soon as information about the incident was received, teams of Railway, Police and Fire Brigade reached the spot. The fire brigade brought the fire under control after about an hour of effort. The Railway Ministry has said that a coach of train number 12204 Amritsar-Saharsa caught fire this morning at Sirhind station in Punjab. No casualties have been reported. The fire has been extinguished.
