Indian Railways News in Hindi: Indian Railways has made major preparations in view of the rush of passengers on the occasion of Diwali and Chhath Puja. Like every year, this time too the Railways has decided to run 44 pairs of special trains. Besides, 174 additional coaches have been added to 60 regular trains so that passengers do not face any problem in going home. Railways has also taken several steps for security and crowd control at the station.
Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, Captain Shashi Kiran said that in view of Diwali and Chhath Puja, Railways has made special arrangements this time. 44 special trains are running between Mumbai, Pune, Howrah, Rajasthan and Bihar. If necessary, the number of trains will be increased further. The operation of these trains will continue from 1 October to 15 November 2025.
Keeping in view the possibility of increase in crowd during festivals, Railways has created holding areas at big stations like Jaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur and Bikaner, where passengers can stop before the arrival of the train. RPF (Railway Protection Force), scouts, guides and NGO volunteers have also been deployed at the station. Passengers have been appealed to reach the station before the departure time of the train.
Railways has temporarily stopped ticket sales on the platform to avoid overcrowding. Also, CCTV cameras, help desk and medical teams will be present at the station. An additional 2,100 RPF personnel have been deployed to protect the passengers and their luggage. Special counters have been opened to help women and children.
The Railways has run several special trains for passengers traveling to Bihar and eastern UP during the festivals — such as Jaipur-Bahraich special, Ajmer-Gorakhpur special and Bikaner-Deoghar special trains. The facility of general coaches has been provided in these trains and tickets can be booked from IRCTC website and app.
