News India Live, Digital Desk: GST Deadline Extension: Diwali time is the busiest and important time of the year for businessmen and traders. On one hand there is pressure to sell, on the other hand there is also the worry of important deadlines like filing tax returns. But this time the government has given a big Diwali relief to millions of taxpayers across the country. The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has extended the last date for filing GSTR-3B returns for the month of October. This news is a big good news for all those traders who were worried about the tax filing deadline amid the busy festival season. Now they have time till October 25. Generally, every month’s GSTR-3B return has to be filed by the 20th of the next month. Accordingly, the last date for returns for October 2025 was October 20. But in view of the festival of Diwali, the government has decided to give additional time to the taxpayers. Now you can file your GSTR-3B return for October 2025 till October 25, 2025 without any late fee. Why was this decision taken? Giving this information on its official ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) handle, CBIC said that this decision has been taken so that taxpayers can celebrate the festivals without any stress. And so that they can get enough time to file their returns. During Diwali, traders are extremely busy in managing their stocks, sales, offers and employees’ holidays. In such a situation, it becomes difficult to find time for tax paperwork. With this move of the government, they have got an additional extension of 5 days, so that they can focus on their business and the festival first. This decision is definitely a welcome step for the business community across the country, which will give them a big relief during the festival season.
