Renowned Punjabi folk singer Arif Lohar has opened up about his emotional journey as a single parent following the death of his wife in 2021. In a recent appearance on Suno TVthe veteran singer shared heartfelt insights into how he has been navigating life with his children after the loss of their mother.
During the interview, Arif Lohar spoke about the irreplaceable role of a mother, calling it the greatest loss any person can experience. He admitted that while he once maintained a strict and authoritative presence as a father, everything changed after his wife passed away.
“Motherhood is divine. There’s no substitute for it,” he said emotionally. “I can never be their mother, but after her passing, I changed. I am no longer the stern father I used to be.”
Lohar explained that after his wife’s death, he struggled to figure out how to keep his children happy and emotionally fulfilled. “I had no option but to be there for them in every possible way. I didn’t know what to do or how to make things right for them,” he shared, holding back tears.
Finding solace in music, he introduced his children to his world of folk singing. He considers himself lucky that his sons not only embraced this path but also showed genuine interest and love for music. “It gives me peace when they join me on stage. They are my biggest fans,” he added with a smile.
