aadhaar card update
Aadhar card has become one of the most important documents in today's time. It is needed everywhere like identity, address, banking, government schemes, school-college or job. In such a situation, if there is any mistake in Aadhaar, then the work may get stuck and you may have to face trouble again and again.
UIDAI i.e. Unique Identification Authority of India has now made some new rules regarding Aadhaar update, which is very important to know. Especially because some information can be corrected only once.
If the name is misspelled in your Aadhaar card or the title is not linked, then keep in mind that UIDAI does not allow mere name correction again and again. If you update once or twice and then realize a mistake, it will be difficult to get it rectified. Therefore, the first time you correct your name, carry the correct documents like passport, voter ID or PAN card and check each letter carefully. Even a small mistake can become a big problem in future.
UIDAI gives the opportunity to update the date of birth only once. If your date of birth is wrong then there may be problems in government schemes, pension, school admission or age certificate. While updating the date of birth, make sure to include the correct proof like birth certificate or 10th mark sheet and once updated, you will not get a second chance, so it is very important to check the complete details properly.
UIDAI has given the facility to update gender only once. If you have updated the gender before, this correction cannot be done again. While changing gender, it is mandatory to provide valid documents or self-declaration. Do this update also thoughtfully, because after this you will not get a chance again.
The good thing is that you can update the address as many times as needed. For example, if you have changed house or shifted city, then you can change the address. But every time it will be necessary to provide address proof, such as electricity bill, bank statement or rent agreement. You can also easily update mobile number and email ID online and for this verification is done through OTP.
If you fill any information incorrectly while updating Aadhaar, your update request may be rejected. Therefore, before updating, check all the details carefully and then proceed. Having wrong information not only hampers work, but also creates problems in matching documents, due to which applications for banking, government schemes, passports etc. can get stuck.
