Bihar Elections: RJD candidate Satyendra Shah has been arrested from Sasaram Assembly. He was arrested after nomination. Satyendra Shah had reached Sasaram sub-divisional office to file nomination. However, as soon as the nomination process was completed, Jharkhand Police arrested him. He was arrested in a robbery case of 2004 in Garhwa police station area.

The arrest has increased the stir in Sasaram politics. There is anger among RJD supporters. Police will present Shah in Garhwa court. There are many cases registered against Shah. Let us tell you, Shah had contested the elections in 2010 on Congress (J) ticket. Years ago, he had fielded his wife in the mayor’s election from Sasaram Municipal Corporation. This time RJD has fielded Satyendra Shah by canceling the ticket of its sitting MLA Rajesh Gupta.

Shah’s arrest took place amid heavy police security during the nomination. Due to this there was chaos on the spot. There is anger among RJD leaders over the arrest. RJD supporters have considered it a political conspiracy. RJD supporters are saying that the arrest will affect the election strategy. However, the police say that action has been taken under the orders of the court. It has nothing to do with elections.
The matter has come to light at a time when nominations for the second phase of Bihar assembly elections are going on. Shah’s arrest has shocked RJD. Now the party is facing challenges only. The party can now either field an alternative candidate or continue with Shaha as its candidate.
