The Beast in Me is coming to Netflix soon and the streamer has just dropped the official trailer for the thriller.

The chilling preview sees author Aggie Wiggs (played by Claire Danes) confronting her new neighbour, Nile Jarvis (Matthew Rhys).

He was once the prime suspect in his wife's disappearance and Aggie is both horrified and fascinated by him.

Keen to make him the subject of her next book, she gets to know him on a more personal level - but has she walked into danger?

The eight-episode series also stars Brittany Snow as Nina Jarvis and Natalie Morales as Shelley.

Fans have taken to the trailer's comment section to share their thoughts, with @cocobluu saying: "Claire Danes THE FACE with a million emotions - count me in! I can see this will be quite the journey. Matthew Rhys and Brittany Snow are a great bonus. Can't wait."

@kevkeisha added: "THIS... THIS is how you do a proper trailer! I'm sold."

@OUTTAIDEAS88 expressed: "Looks like Claire Danes is gonna bring home another Emmy."

@itsreeeshaaa3650 commented: "I'm so excited about this. Both leads are so talented."

Guest stars include David Lyons as an FBI agent and Jonathan Banks as Martin Jarvis, Nile's father.

Producers on the series include actress and filmmaker Jodie Foster and TV host and writer Conan O'Brien.

Howard Gordon is the showrunner and he is known for his work on the Showtime thriller Homeland.

Lead actors Danes and Rhys had only seen three scripts by the time filming started.

Danes was hooked on the premise when she received the pilot from Foster, which had been written by creator Gabe Rotter.

"I loved how classic it felt, surprising and faintly Hitchcockian," Danes told Vanity Fair.

The Beast in Me airs on Netflix on November 13
