The second match of the ODI series between the teams of West Indies and Bangladesh was played at Shere Bangla National Stadium. In this match there was a tough competition between both the teams. On the slow pitch, batsmen of both the teams were seen struggling to score runs. But at one time the West Indies team had come very close to winning this match, but in the last over of the match, an amazing comeback was seen from Bangladesh and they were successful in tying the match. Then the result of this match was decided through super over.

No result even after 100 overs

In this match, Bangladesh team batted first and scored 213 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs. During this, West Indies got 50 overs bowled by spinners, which was seen for the first time in the history of ODI cricket. Whereas, Soumya Sarkar scored the maximum 45 runs for Bangladesh. Apart from him, captain Mehdi Hasan Miraj contributed 32 runs. After this, Rishad Hussain played an explosive inning of 39 runs in 14 balls in the last overs.

On the other hand, Gudakesh Moti took maximum 3 wickets from West Indies. At the same time, Akil Hussain and Alik Athanaje also made 2-2 batsmen their victims. Apart from these, very economical bowling was seen from Roston Chase and Khary Pierre.

Windies could not score 5 runs in the last over

West Indies' start while chasing the target of 214 runs was nothing special. They lost half the team for 103 runs and then by the time they reached 133 runs, 7 batsmen returned to the pavilion. But captain Shai Hope was holding the end and took the team closer to the target. He scored 53 unbeaten runs. Casey Carty also contributed 35 runs and Justin Greaves contributed 26 runs. But the West Indies team could not score 5 runs in the last over. She managed to score 4 runs in the last over, due to which her score remained only 213 runs at the loss of 9 wickets after 50 overs.

West Indies won in the super over

After the match was tied, a super over was played, in which West Indies, batting first, scored 10 runs. But Bangladesh team failed to chase the target of 11 runs. He scored only 8 runs at the loss of 1 wicket in 6 balls and lost the match by 2 runs. With this the series is tied at 1-1.
