Rishabh Pant appointed Captain of India A for Red-Ball Series against South Africa A

PTC Web Desk: India wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant has been named captain of the India A team for the upcoming red-ball series against South Africa A, scheduled in Bengaluru from October 30. Pant has fully recovered from a foot fracture sustained during the fourth Test against England in Manchester this July.

Due to the injury, Rishabh Pant missed the Asia Cup and the recent two-Test home series against the West Indies. His appointment as captain comes ahead of the home Test series against South Africa beginning November 14.

Vice-captain and key players

The selectors named Sai Sudharsan as vice-captain. Other prominent members of the India A squad include Devdutt Padikkal, wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel, pacer Mohammed Siraj, and experienced campaigners such as KL Rahul, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Abhimanyu Easwaran.
