Flowers are used extensively in decoration and puja during Diwali. And some people immerse them after the puja, but you can use them in many creative and useful ways. This not only benefits the environment, but also maintains the beauty and fragrance in the house. Below are some easy and effective solutions by which you can reuse these flowers.
Collect dried flower petals (rose, marigold, jasmine etc.). Dry them in the sun or with an air dryer. Add some cinnamon sticks, cloves, dried lemon peel and a few drops of essential oil (like lavender or rose). Place in an open bowl – this will make your house smell naturally.
Put rose petals in water and boil on low flame. When color and fragrance come in the water, filter it and fill it in a glass bottle. You can use it as face mist, room spray or in puja.
Cut old flowers into small pieces and mix them with kitchen waste (vegetable peels etc.). Add it to soil or compost and within a week it will turn into organic fertilizer. This compost will be nutritious and natural for your plants.
Collect dried flower petals in different colors. Next time make beautiful rangoli with them or do art work with children.
