Bengaluru: In the murder case of Maratalli's Dr. Krutika M. Reddy, which has created a sensation in the medical world, the arrested accused husband Dr. Mahendra Reddy has revealed shocking truth to the police. Mahendra confesses that there were 3 main reasons for the murder, which include property, illicit relations and Kritika's health problems. During the police investigation, Dr. Mahendra Reddy confessed that the murder was pre-planned. He said that property dispute was the main reason for the murder. "If I had divorced Krutika, I would not have got a share in the property. That's why I did not divorce. There was a fear of losing respect in the society by giving divorce," Mahendra told the police.
According to Mahendra's statement, he was also worried due to Kritika's illness. 'Dr. Krithika M. Reddy was not keeping well. After seeing patients in the hospital all day, it had become a problem for me to take care of him at home in the evening. Mahendra alleged that Kritika's family had hidden the fact of her gastric problem at the time of marriage. She also said that she was aware of Kritika's treatment.
Apart from the property and health problems leading to the murder, the accused Mahendra has also confessed to the police that he had an illicit affair. However, he clarified that there was no intention to commit murder because of illicit relationship. He also informed that he used to earn around Rs 70 to 80 thousand every month as fellowship.
Expressing concern about the investigation of the murder, Mahendra said, "I thought that by killing by giving anesthesia, the police investigation would not reveal anything and the real cause of death would not be revealed. But, I did not know that the police would investigate with such technicality and depth. If I had known that there would be this level of investigation, I would not have committed the murder.
