Takahashi, whose career is at its peak, was the center of controversy after just one article by Bunshun Online. A report published on Tuesday revealed that the 24-year-old star spent the night with adult film actress Saika Kawakita, while still dating a celebrity.

According to Bunshun, after the friendly match between Japan and Bulgaria at Ariake Arena on Sept. 3, Takahashi left the venue amid cheers from the audience. But instead of returning to the hotel with his team, he took a taxi to Roppongi, an entertainment district in Tokyo. Reporters captured him getting out of the car, wearing a hat and a mask, and quickly entering a building. A few minutes later, a young woman with short hair got out of another taxi and entered the same building.

The two were in a restaurant with a private karaoke room until after 3:30 a.m., then left together in a taxi. Their destination was a luxury hotel in Tokyo. They checked in together before disappearing behind the elevator door. Sources confirmed to Bunshun that the woman was Kawakita, a Japanese adult video star.

Takahashi is currently the key outside hitter of the Japan national volleyball team. He was also the best outside hitter at the 2025 AVC Men’s Champions League. Thanks to his talent and good looks, Takahashi has over 2.7 million followers on Instagram.

Kawakita, 26, debuted in the adult film industry at 18 and quickly rose to fame. She currently leads in Blu-ray sales among JAV actresses and social media popularity, with more than 1.3 million Instagram followers and 1.6 million on X.

The controversy did not stop there. A week later, Takahashi and his team left Japan for the world championships in the Philippines, where the team was eliminated early on Sept. 15 and Takahashi’s performance was questioned.

Just 12 days after returning to Japan, he booked a room at the same hotel where he had spent the night with Kawakita and invited her over again. The JAV actress was seen leaving without makeup the next morning.

But the biggest shock came the very next night, when he returned to the same hotel, this time with Uka, a famous Instagram influencer with more than 150,000 followers.

Uka, 26, is a familiar face among Japanese youth, having posed in bikinis for Young Magazine. According to sources, she is Takahashi’s girlfriend, Kbizoom reported.

Discussion about Takahashi’s love life has spread quickly on social media. Many fans expressed disappointment toward the scandal.

“Japanese men’s volleyball relies heavily on image appeal. If Takahashi loses his form and is involved in a scandal like this, he will lose fans quickly,” one user wrote.

In response to public opinion, Takahashi’s management company said it would not interfere in the personal life of the athlete.
