Prince Andrew has been completely torn apart by Carole Malone in a brutal 5-world put down. Appearing on the Daily Expresso the journalist told JJ Anisiobi that the disgraced prince fails to think "he has done anything wrong" and thinks he is being "persecuted".
In the wake of the royal relinquishing his titles after a discussion with his brother King Charles III, Carole spoke about the now infamous 2019 Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlis. The bombshell discussion led to him withdrawing from public life and handing back his royal titles. During their interview, she raised his friendship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and addressed sexual assault claims made by Virginia Giuffre. Andrew has vehemently denied all claims against him.
The one thing that struck the Daily Express columnist Carole is "his total lack of empathy for the victims".
In a hammering five-word shut-down, Carole says this is because "he thinks he's the victim."
Carole said: "Even in that infamous interview with Emily Maitlis the thing that struck me and everyone is his total lack of empathy and sympathy for the victims of Epstein. He never mentioned the victims once, he think's hes the victim. He thinks he's being persecuted and that Epstein has caused him a lot of trouble.
"He doesn't see his part in all of this which is probably why he wants to stay in Royal Lodge because he doesn't think he has done anything wrong."
This follows the revelation this week that the disgraced former Duke of York has only paid a "peppercorn" rent on the lush Crown Estate property, where he has lived with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson for more than 20 years.
Previously, it was believed that Andrew was paying a hefty monthly fee.
A "peppercorn" rent, as explained in a copy of the Royal Lodge's leasehold agreement seen by The Times, means that Prince Andrew has been living rent-free, as he would only ever have had to pay a rent of one peppercorn, if asked. But when former MP Ian Davidson's select committee inquired 20 years ago, they were allegedly given "no straight answers" and simply "flat out refused."
The King's brother is facing increasing pressure from ministers and senior politicians to leave his grace-and-favour mansion due to his links to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
"The reason he wants to say is that he has nothing left, his credibility went a long time ago, respect went a long time ago", noted Carole.
She then went on to credit senior Royals for their "sterling work" adding there is not much Charles can do.
Carole said: "I do feel sorry for Charles in all of this, what can he literally do. He offered him Frogmore Cottage that Harry and Meghan spent £2.5 renovating"
She added: "Charles is doing sterling work at the moment so is Wills and so is Kate yet it is consistently undermined by stuff about Andrew."
