Through a bulk deal, Mukul Agrawal purchased a substantial 15 lakh shares of Protean eGov, each priced at Rs 1230.15. Agrawal, known for his keen eye for value, now joins the ranks of other big-name investors, including Ramesh Damani, who already holds a 1.29% stake in Protean eGov Technologies. For those unfamiliar with the company, Protean eGov Technologies, formerly known as NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure, is a key player in India’s digital public infrastructure. They are instrumental in managing and delivering several crucial e-governance services, including Tax Information Network (TIN), PAN card services, the National Pension System (NPS), and the Atal Pension Yojana. Essentially, they are at the forefront of driving digital transformation across various public services in the country.

The company’s stock, which debuted on November 17, 2023, at Rs 1,250, closed at Rs 1215.45 on the day of Agrawal’s bulk deal. Interestingly, its IPO (Initial Public Offering) price was Rs 792, indicating a robust 53% return for early investors by the time it listed. Mukul Agrawal’s recent investment only adds to the company’s market credibility and potential for future growth in the evolving digital India landscape. This kind of equity investment highlights strategic moves in wealth creation within the Indian share market.
