The starting price of the new Tata Sierra can start from around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to Rs 20 lakh. This price puts it between the Tata Curve (₹ 9.66 lakh – ₹ 18.85 lakh) and the Tata Harrier (₹ 14 lakh – ₹ 25.25 lakh), making it a great option in the mid-range SUV segment.
The Sierra will be available in three variants of the 1.5 liter engine: naturally aspirated petrol, turbo-petrol and diesel. The special thing is that the electric version (EV) of Sierra will be launched first, followed by petrol and diesel variants. Tata’s turbo petrol engine can also be seen in Harrier and Safari in future.
The new Sierra includes some of the older model’s features such as the curved rear window, square wheel arches and high bonnet, but its look is now more modern. It will have a sharp roofline, low overhangs and slab-sided design. Additionally, the 19-inch alloy wheels make it more attractive, whereas the old Sierra had 15-inch tyres.
The interiors of Sierra will be very premium. It will include three 12.3-inch screens (digital instrument cluster, central and passenger touchscreen). Features like dual-tone dashboard, Harrier EV-like four-spoke steering wheel (with illuminated logo), panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, ventilated front seats, Harman sound system and ambient lighting will also be available. Safety also includes 6 airbags, 360° camera, ESC and level-2 ADAS.
The new Sierra will compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Victoris, Grand Vitara, Toyota Highrider, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor and Citroen Aircross. This SUV can make a strong place in the market on the basis of its price and features.
