Olympic champion Carlos Yulo takes bronze at world championships

Filipino Olympic medalist Carlos Yulo secured the bronze medal in the men’s floor exercise at the 2025 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Friday.

Yulo scored 14.533 points in the final, achieved with a difficulty score of 5.9 and an execution score of 8.566. He finished behind U.K. duo Jake Jarman, who won gold with 14.866 points, and Luke Whitehouse, who claimed silver with 14.666, Manila Times reported.

The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG)’s official X account detailed Yulo’s performance as: “2.5 twist to front double pike, small hop. Double layout, double full out, small shuffle back. 3.5 twist side pass. Front double twist to front layout. Stuck double layout full out.”

Jarman, who won bronze behind Yulo in the Paris Olympics, clinched gold despite a 0.1 penalty. His routine, which featured a difficulty score of 6.300, included a triple-twisting double layout and a triple double tuck.

Yulo will next compete in the vault final on Saturday.

According to ForbesYulo, 24, is celebrated as the most decorated Filipino gymnast in history. He made history by becoming the first Filipino to win two gold medals in a single Olympics, taking victories in the floor exercise and vault at Paris last year.

He already has a distinguished world championships record, winning his first world gold in Stuttgart in 2019 with a career-best of 15.300 points on floor, and later added vault gold and parallel bars silver in the world championships in Kitakyushu after the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
