Ruben Amorim has revealed Manchester United have doubts over Harry Maguire and Mason Mount ahead of their clash with Brighton at Old Trafford. The Red Devils are looking to add another win to their collection after defeating Liverpool last time out.

Maguire scored the winning goal against the Reds to underline his ongoing importance to Amorim's side. Mount led the line for United in the game as Arne Slot vented his frustrations at the club straying away from Benjamin Sesko for the fixture.

The pair's availability is now in doubt for the Seagulls' visit, but their issues are not thought to be severe.

Lisandro Martinez also remains out of action for United as he moves closer to his return. The Argentina international suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury last February but is now set to be slowly reintegrated into the side.

Amorim said in his press conference: "Squad is fine, we have some doubts, some issues during the week with Maguire and Mount. Nothing serious but doubts. Licha is out."

"I don't know when he will be fit," Amorim added on the latter. "He trained really well, not with us but on the next pitch and I was watching the training.

"He is feeling well and responding well so I don't want to say a specific day or one week but he is near to start training with the team and then it depends on the rythmn of Licha if he wins the place or not. That will depend on him but he is closer to a return to training."

United's boss Amorim would not be drawn on Maguire's future with the veteran defender in the last year of his deal. The 32-year-old has impressed his boss with his influence this season, however.

"We are really happy with Harry," said Amorim. "Not the time to talk about his contract because that gives the idea that we are thinking so far away.

"We are really happy with Harry, he is really important for us but we just need to focus on the next game."

"It was good for him to play with three centre-backs, so sometimes you help players with the way you play," Amorim added. "I am really pleased. He is not young, but he can learn a lot. He needs to be better with the ball. He is a massive player for us and he needs to continue."
